Teeth Whitening
Teeth can become stained and darker over time due to age, smoking and dietary factors such as tea, coffee and red wine. Professional teeth whitening can remove stains on the inside and outside of the teeth, creating a brighter and whiter smile.
At KW Dental & MediSpa, we are proud to provide our patients with Boutique at-home whitening kits. Boutique is a professional teeth whitening system that can ONLY be provided by a dentist.

Is teeth whitening safe?
Teeth whitening is regulated as a cosmetic product in Europe and must adhere to the EU Cosmetic Regulations. This dictates that the strength of hydrogen peroxide cannot exceed 6% by weight in professional teeth whitening solutions. At 6% strength, professional tooth whitening is very safe when used under the supervision of a dentist. If you use our products as directed, provided you have no allergies to the ingredients, you should have a safe and comfortable experience with Boutique Whitening.
PLEASE NOTE - it is illegal for anyone other than a GDC registered dental professional to carry out teeth whitening! You must also be seen for an initial consultation to ensure you are dentally fit and suitable for teeth whitening before it is carried out. Read more HERE
How does it work?
Boutique teeth whitening gels are made using either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide – the same products used by all professional teeth whitening companies. Peroxide breaks down into oxygen free radicals, which penetrate the tooth and oxidise long chain pigment molecules, breaking them down and thus whitening the tooth.
What is the process?
It is so easy to get started on your whitening journey! We take a mould of your teeth from which your bespoke teeth whitening trays can be made. You then decide with the dentist which system will best suit your lifestyle. The Boutique Day formula requires 1.5 hours wear time per day or you can choose a Night gel, which will whiten your teeth overnight as you sleep. Once you have your kit, just apply the gel as directed to unveil your new brighter, whiter smile!
How long does it last?
Teeth whitening is not permanent. The duration between top up teeth whitening depends mainly on lifestyle choices. People who smoke or consume food and beverages that stain teeth, such as red wine, coffee and curries, will find that they need teeth whitening at more regular intervals. If your lifestyle involves one or more of these factors then you may require top-ups every 3 to 4 months. Most people will require a top-up on their teeth whitening at 6 monthly or yearly intervals.
What are the risks?
Teeth whitening is a very safe procedure when performed correctly. The most common side effects are sensitivity and gum irritation, however these are normally very mild and temporary. Boutique whitening gels also include a desensitising agent to help with sensitivity. We will always explain all possible side effects and management before carrying out the treatment.
